Disturbance near Subway leads to DUI arrest
Ceres Cop Car

A 27-year-old Ceres woman was arrested for drunken driving after police were called to the scene of a suspicious circumstance near the Subway at 1515 Mitchell Road early Friday.

At 1:47 a.m. someone called to report seeing a male attempting to force a woman into a grey Chevrolet pickup before leaving the area. Officer Vince Hooper saw the truck exiting the parking lot southbound on Mitchell Road and initiated a traffic stop.

He spoke to driver Christina Nicole Harrison, 27, of Ceres, who had a male passenger in the right front seat. The two had gotten into an argument with a female friend over her not wanting to get into the truck to go home with them. Hooper detected a strong odor of alcoholic in the cab and felt Harrison was impaired.

Officer Ross Bays made contact with the other woman who told him that she thought Harrison was too drunk to drive. After failing a field sobriety test Harrison was placed under arrest for misdemeanor DUI. A breath sample revealed a .20 percent blood alcohol content.
