Downtown gas station robbed by two men

Police are investigating Sunday afternoon’s robbery of a downtown Ceres gas station blocks from Ceres Police headquarters.

The robbery was reported at 12:35 p.m. after two black men, of which one was armed, walked into the Eagle Gas station at 3006 El Camino and demanded money. The suspects were both wearing hooded sweatshirts. After they were handed money the suspects fled in a silver- or gray-colored Volvo last seen getting onto northbound Highway 99 from the nearby onramp.

The suspects were described as black males between 25 and 30 years of age. One was approximately 5-foot-9 and weighed 170 pounds, while the other was described as 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds.

The one suspect who was armed with holding a handgun described as an “Uzi” type.
