Reports of a driver swerving all over the road led Ceres Police to arrest David Segura, 56, of Modesto on charges of felony DUI on Friday evening, March 13.

At 11:13 p.m., Officer Jesus Salinas answered the call and found the suspected DUI driver in the KFC parking lot at 1467 Mitchell Road. The vehicle was stopped in the middle of the parking lot and blocking the drive-thru. Two female pedestrians who saw the truck nearly crash attended to Segura. Officer Salinas saw Segura slumped over. His vehicle was in park but the engine was revving because his foot was on the gas pedal. Officer Salinas turned off the engine and roused Segura, who was extremely intoxicated. He had to be detained after he became combative.

Segura was taken to the hospital for an evidentiary blood sample and tried to fight nursing staff.

Segura had six prior misdemeanor DUI convictions making this one a felony.  He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for felony DUI.
