An early Wednesday, August 4 traffic stop ended with the arrest of a 28-year-old Ceres man for driving while intoxicated.

At 1:10 a.m. Officer Matthew Vierra pulled over a Honda Civic driven by Jose Gutierrez at Hatch and Herndon roads. Gutierrez appeared to be intoxicated and a breathalyzer test showed he had a blood alcohol content that was twice the legal amount to drive. Gutierrez was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on a charge of DUI.
