A 37-year-old Modesto man who was under the influence of marijuana and passed out behind the wheel at a Ceres intersection was arrested on Wednesday evening, June 1.

At 6:23 p.m., Officer Kiashira Ruiz saw a black Hyundai Elantra stopped in the northbound lane of Mitchell Road at Fowler Road. The driver had been awaiting a red light but failed to move when the light turned green and drivers behind him began honking horns to get his attention. Officer Ruiz could see that Tony Moushi’s head was down and it appeared he had passed out.

Officer Ruiz stopped behind the Elantra and was able to rouse Moushi. She could smell a strong odor of burning marijuana in the vehicle.

At the end of her DUI investigation, Moushi was arrested for DUI and later booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving while under the influence of drugs.
