Three men broke into Sam's Cafe

Police released this surveillance video screenshot of one of the burglary suspects who broke into Sam's Cafe early Wednesday morning.

Sam’s Café, which recently reopened after months of out of commission from a fire, now has burglars to worry about.

But if Ceres Police get their way, the men who broke into the Fifth Street Plaza business on Wednesday morning will be rethinking their career path behind bars. They have issued a clear photo of some of the suspects who made off with a small safe.

An alarm at Sam’s Café went off at 2:34 a.m. and the alarm company advised Ceres Police that the front door and front motion sensors had been activated. Officers rushed to the restaurant and found the front door had been pried open but no one inside. Surveillance video shows three males – one of them carrying a pry bar – enter through the front door and head to the back of the business. They fled through of the same door about a minute later taking the small safe.

A similar burglary occurred on the same morning approximately half an hour later at a restaurant in Delhi. Suspect descriptions and methods of entry are similar to the burglary at Sam’s Café.

Anyone with information regarding this burglary is asked to contact Detective Viramontes at 538-5730.
