Tyler Oney, 19, of Ceres, faces two counts of burglary and trespassing after he admitted breaking into the city corp yard at Smyrna Park and shooting out the windows of two city trucks to take items.

The burglary occurred at 1:37 a.m. on Thursday. An alarm alerted police of the break-in and officers who were in the area arrived quickly on scene. An officer spotted Oney walking away from the area. He was stopped and found with city property that included a hat, a cordless battery charger, and a pair of hand pruning shears. Oney also had a pellet gun which he said he used to shoot out the truck windows.
