A suspect in last week's brazen Turlock homicide is linked to a Ceres weapons charge.

Two Turlock men were arrested for the murder of a 21-year-old Amritpal Sandhu of Modesto. His bullet bullet-riddled body was found slumped over the wheel of his car on Main Street in Turlock early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6. The suspects are Pardeep Singh, 21, of Turlock, and Kultar Singh Dhatt, 22, of Turlock.

Singh was arrested on suspicion of murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and another weapon related charge stemming from an investigation by the Ceres Police Department, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

At 1:25 a.m. the California Highway Patrol received an emergency call from Sandhu who stated he was being shot at as he drove southbound on Highway 99 near Taylor Road. About one minute after the call had been transferred by the CHP to Turlock police, reports of shots fired in the area of E. Canal Drive started coming into the Turlock dispatch.

The first officers at the scene found an Acura Infiniti that had run up on the curb in front of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at E. Main Street and N. Minaret Avenue. Sandhu was found behind the driver's wheel with three gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators did not elaborate what led them to the two suspects.

Dhatt was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both men are being held at the Stanislaus County Jail without bail.
