SOUTH MODESTO - Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department detectives are trying to piece together clues surrounding the early Monday morning shooting of a man at the Oak Motel on Crows Landing Road.

At approximately 3 a.m. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Oak Motel at 1901 Crowslanding Road for a 911 call of a person who had been shot. When deputies arrived they found an adult male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an emergency room at a Modesto hospital but later transported to a facility out of the area where he is expected to recover.

The motel was cordoned off as deputies searched for clues in Room #4. A white Ford Thunderbird was parked in front of the shooting scene but authorities would not comment on its relevance.

According to department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran, detectives were able to interview witnesses but reported they have been uncooperative and that there is no information on the shooter. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Detective Darwin Hatfield at 525-7100. Anyone with tips may also leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
