An 82-year-old Ceres man who was pulled from a Saturday evening mobile home fire in the 3900 block of Central Avenue later died at a local hospital.
Modesto and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire departments were called to the Colony Park Mobile Home Park at approximately 5:45 p.m. Saturday and were alerted that a man was possibly trapped inside. Modesto Fire Department Engine 15 arrived to find the mobile home on fire. Firefighters performed a quick search and located the man and removed him.
Paramedic firefighters and American Medical Response paramedics provided initial medical care and transported the occupant to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s office would not release the victim’s name pending notification of relatives but social media posts identified the man as Gene and noted that he didn’t have any local family.
The fire was quickly extinguished before the fire could spread to other mobile homes nearby.
