9/11 remembrance service slated

The 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States will be remembered in Ceres.

The Ceres Post of the American Legion announced it is planning a 9/11 Memorial Service at Whitmore Park for Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The event will start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 9 a.m. The public is urged to put the event on the calendar.

The service will include posting of the colors, prayer led by a local pastor, and a rifle salute to the fallen civilians, first responders and military personnel on Sept. 11, 2001.

This will be the 18th anniversary of the attack.
