William Alexander has resigned from the Keyes Community Services District and its board is planning to fill the vacancy by appointment.

KCSD General Manager Ernie Garza notified the Board of Supervisors of the vacancy on June 21.

The resignation came because Alexander moved out of Keyes.

Alexander, who had served on the board since before 2007, had sought re-election in 2018. He is leaving a term that doesn’t expire until December 2022.

Members of the council advise the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors on matters of public health, safety, welfare, public works and planning which are or may be provided to the area.

Other members of the board are President Johnathon Parker, Vice President Timothy Robertson and directors Eddie Jones and Cody Knee

The KCSD Board of Directors is fielding applications from interested Keyes residents to fill the vacancy for the next year and a half. Keyes residents who are at least 18 and a registered voter may apply by picking up an application at the office, 5601 Seventh Street, filling it out and returning it. The board hopes to fill the vacancy at its July 27 board meeting.
