Do you know an individual, group or business that is doing great things for the Ceres community? If so, the Ceres Chamber of Commerce wants to know who they are and what they are doing.
The Chamber is calling for nominations for the 2020 annual Community Service Awards & Installation Dinner, the premier business event for the Ceres Chamber of Commerce. The annual event is highlighted by the recognition of outstanding members in the Ceres community who have made extraordinary contributions in service.
Since 1969, the Ceres Chamber of Commerce has recognized individuals for their service to the community; business and civic attainment on a local, state, national or international level; leadership; awareness of the needs of others; and distinctive accomplishments that have brought favorable attention to Ceres, their industry or organization.
“It’s important to the Chamber to recognize those that serve our community in various ways,” said Chamber President Herman Bhatti. “We want to encourage our citizens that if they know someone who is doing incredible things for Ceres, then we want to hear about it.”
Each year, the Chamber is seeks nominations of citizens and businesses for the following categories: Distinguished Service, Volunteer of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year (less than 36 employees), Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year, and Legacy, which honors individuals and/or businesses that have contributed through service, support or volunteer efforts to the Ceres community for more than 40 years.
Nominations may be made online at cereschamber.com or in the Ceres Chamber office located at 2904 Fourth Street in downtown Ceres, now until Friday, Dec. 13. All nominees will be invited to the Chamber’s 51st banquet scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Ceres Community Center. Tickets are $40 per person.
