City Hall, American Legion hall to be reroofed
Ceres city hall reroof
Ceres City Hall will be reroofed as well as the Ceres American Legion Memorial Building (not pictured).

The Ceres City Council last week approved spending up to $247,490 to reroof Ceres City Hall and the American Legion Hall buildings.

The city requested bids from local roofing contractors to include preparing the existing roofing system for re-roofing and providing and installing new roofing product with a minimum 20-year warranty. Only four local roofing contractors were contacted and only two responded. Tru-Tech Roofing of Modesto was the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $119,995 for the City Hall building and $104,995 for the American Legion Hall building, for a total of $224,990. A 10 percent contingency of $22,500 for unforeseen material replacement and repairs brings the project cost to $247,490.

The other bid came from King’s Roofing of Sacramento at $286,355.
