An early Sunday morning vehicle crash in south Modesto sent three to Modesto hospitals with major injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Hatch Road near Rancho Encantado Court. The location is between Carpenter and Crows Landing roads.

Modesto Police said that Armana Slayyeh, 24, of San Ramon, was left in critical condition in an intensive care unit. Reports indicate that Slayyeh was eastbound on Hatch Road in a Honda Civic when he lost control and his vehicle went off the road. The car rolled and landed on its wheels. Two women who were sitting in the backseat and not wearing safety belts were ejected. They sustained major injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

Rescue personnel had to cut Slayyeh – also not wearing a seat belt – from the wreckage.

Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said a male front seat passenger ran from the scene before officers arrived.

A fifth occupant – a third woman who was in the back seat – escaped with only minor injuries.

All the victims were reportedly from Modesto and around 20-30 in age.

It’s unknown if the crash involved drugs or alcohol.
