SOUTH MODESTO - A 21-year-old Modesto man was killed Monday evening when his car was struck broadside on the driver's side after he pulled in front of a southbound SUV on Crows Landing Road.

Modesto firefighters found Kristian Valdovinos unresponsive as he was pinned in the wrecked Honda.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. as Valdovinos was pulling out of the ingress and egress at Crows Landing Road Veterinary Clinic at Algen Avenue north of Whitmore Avenue.

Witnesses said that prior to the crash the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee had been driving recklessly. The impact pushed the Honda about 75 feet down from impact.

Valdovinos was declared dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to a Modesto hospital for treatment of injuries as was the driver of the Jeep.

A dog inside the Honda was cared for at the clinic.
