A vehicle stop on a red Ford Mustang which had expired registration and window tinting that was too dark led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Ceres man on multiple charges Sunday morning.

At 9:58 a.m. Officer Christian Izquierdo stopped Erick Cortez in his Mustang in the 1700 block of Margaret Way. Cortez was found to be unlicensed, and wanted for an outstanding felony arrest warrant. A search of the car turned up two loaded firearms and suspected methamphetamine.

Cortez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of an illegal substance while armed, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, carrying a loaded firearm, and driving on a suspended license.
