Fatal crash blamed on DUI driver

Thursday afternoon’s deadly crash that took the life of a 21-year-old Hughson woman has been blamed on an allegedly drunk driver.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:06 p.m. at Hatch and Faith Home roads.

The victim was identified as Michelle Echeverria. She was ejected from her driver’s seat and sustained major injuries, according to Ceres Police. The first officers on scene and other emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures but Echeverria was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ceres Police’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) began investigating the crash and arrested the driver of the other vehicle, Dylan Wilson, 31, of Empire. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving under the influence resulting in injury or death and second-degree murder.

The intersection remained closed for several hours while investigators studied the wreckage and took photos and measurements.
