Few details emerge about CVHS campus brawl between man, student
CVHS brawl
This grainy and blurry screenshot from a video shot on the campus of Central Valley High School shows a man and student in a physical altercation on Friday, Sept. 9.

A video of a brawl between a father visiting the Central Valley High School campus and a student made its way onto social media but neither the Ceres Unified School District nor Ceres Police Department would release information about what took place.

“We are aware of an altercation that occurred after Central Valley High School dismissed at 3:24 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, involving an adult male and a minor student,” said Beth Jimenez, the spokeswoman for the Ceres Unified School District. “Due to the active police investigation, no further details are available at this time.”

Sgt. Keith Griebel of the Ceres Police Department said that no arrests have been made but that the incident is still being investigated.

“That’s about all I can or will say about the case right now,” Griebel said in an email to the Courier. “If we make an arrest, you will be the first to know.”

While details remain unclear, it appears that there was a verbal altercation between two students when the adult intervened. Those who have seen the video said that another student ran up and grabbed the hat from the man’s head and either knocked it off or ran off with it. The parent then reportedly squared off with that student and an altercation ensued.
