Heaven Snow shaved ice shack began on March 18, 1996. The business served flavored shaved ice, a big hit on warm summer and fall days. In February 2020, the snow-cone kiosk business appealed to the City Council to rethink limiting its operation to 180 days out of the year through the administrative permit process. Owners sought permission to operate year-round.

For the first time ever, the city has allowed Heaven Snow to operate year round, meaning they could expand their product line to include coffee, lattes and espressos and hot teas.

“We’re giving it a try this winter to see how it goes and how we’re liking it, if this is something we want to do,” said Violet.

The couple is using a local roaster in Ceres.

“His coffee is really amazing and we’re really happy with it and so are our customers. He gives us our beans with our label on it.”

The Saveh’s said they have sampled various suppliers from Los Angeles to San Francisco to find the bean they like and decided to go with the local unnamed roaster.

“Our prices are very decent for what we serve,” said Violet. “Actually I think we’re, if not the same less than Starbucks. Our prices are very reasonable.”

Heaven Snow offers a variety of coffee flavors like peppermint mocha, caramel brulee, gingerbread brown sugar, cinnamon, cheesecake, toffee, pumpkin pie, hazelnut, toasted marshmallow and black and white tie (a popular drink made of dark and white chocolate mixed mocha espresso). The business also offers regular hot chocolate and festive hot chocolate with toppings, chocolate pretzels and Abuelita hot chocolate.

While Heaven’s Snow does get business from La Sequoia, she said “the majority of our customers are our followers.”

The shop has four employees.

To help increase sales and added convenience for their customers in new venture, Heaven Snow offer DoorDash service for coffee deliveries.
