A 79-year-old Ceres man suffered fatal injuries during a Saturday morning crash when one of the drivers blew through a red light at Faith Home at Keyes roads.

The deadly crash west of Keyes occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m.

The man killed in the crash was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Tony Perez of Ceres.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the preliminary investigation indicated that Bob Manuel Andrade, 45, of Turlock was driving his 2009 Mercedes-Benz westbound on Keyes Road just east of Faith Home Road at an unknown rate of speed and that Perez was southbound on Faith Home Road in a 2013 Hyundai.  Witnesses stated that Andrade was approaching the intersection with Faith Home Road but it is unclear which driver failed to stop at the red light which caused the intersection crash.

Perez was dead on scene.

The investigating officer Fouad A Mosleh found Andrade’s car on the north shoulder of Keyes Road, just west of Faith Home Road, facing in a westerly direction.  The Mercedes-Benz had major front-end damage.  The 2013 Hyundai came to rest on its left side, leaning against an almond tree on the north shoulder of Keyes Road, just west of Faith Home Road. It was facing in an easterly direction.  The Hyundai had major left side damage.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
