Lawmakers to be at Chamber breakfast

The Ceres Chamber of Commerce and city of Ceres will host the 2017 Legislative Day on Friday morning, March 31 with a free pancake breakfast to hear directly from legislative representatives on the issues important to businesses, the local community, and families. There will also be a time to ask questions.

The breakfast gets underway at 7 a.m. at Howard Training Center's Witmer Hall, 1424 Stonum Road. Reservations for a seat are required by visiting cereschamber.chambermaster.com/events or calling the Chamber office 537-2601. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. The event is expected to be over by 9 a.m.

The event will feature candid questions and conversations about a host of pressing legislative issues including transportation, business regulations and the environment.

Local representatives planning to be present include:

• U.S. Congressman Jeff Denham, (R-CA District 10);

• State Assemblyman Adam Gray (D-District 21);

• District 5 County Supervisor Jim DeMartini (District 5);
• Ceres Mayor Chris Vierra.

The event is being hosted by the Ceres Chamber of Commerce and the Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors include the city of Ceres, Howard Training Center and Turlock Irrigation District.
