Library offers activities

The Ceres Library will offer free programs for all ages in December, beginning with Wee Move and Play on Wednesdays, Dec. 7 and 21 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

Children are invited to "STEAM* Activity: Five Senses" on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. (*STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Participants will learn how individuals explore and process the world through the five senses.

Young crafters can decorate foam pieces shaped like puppies and gingerbread people at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. Craft materials will be provided so that children can decorate and customize their foam pieces.

Children and teens can visit the library on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 3:30 p.m. for an edible snowman and reindeer craft. Each participant will have the opportunity to make a snowman or reindeer out of donuts, snack cakes and candy.

The Ceres Library Book Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28. This month, the book club will discuss The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick.

All ages are invited to relax with an afternoon of coloring and painting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29. The library will provide all materials needed for participants to enjoy two hours of coloring and painting with watercolors.
