The city of Ceres is rolling out its Hometown Hero Banner Program to recognize veterans and active duty service members who live in Ceres or past members who were from Ceres.

Sponsors are being sought to help underwrite the costs of the banners which will be displayed along Third, Fourth and North streets beginning the week of Veterans Day which falls on Friday, Nov. 11 this year.

Several levels of financial sponsorships are available at $100, $225, $500, $1,000 and $5,000.

A total of 37 banners will be available for individual service members, which will be on display for a year. Both sides will display the service members’ name, photo and branch of service.

The city has set up an application process for family members to fill out and submit by Tuesday, Sept. 6. Applications are available at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth Street, or online on the city’s website at www.ci.ceres.ca.us

Proof of Ceres residency will be required to prove that the service member is from Ceres.
