A male pedestrian was killed Monday evening, Oct. 16 when he was struck by a car on Carpenter Road southwest of Ceres.
The collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 9:32 p.m. and occurred north of Grayson Road. The 60-year-old victim Jesus Verduzco of Modesto, was found lying in the northbound lane of Carpenter Road being treated by emergency personnel.
The CHP said Verduzco was struck by a northbound 2002 BMW driven by Tymon Bolden, 23, of Newman. Investigators believe Bolden was traveling at 55 to 60 mph when the victim walked across the lane and was struck by the front right side of the car. Verduzco was loaded up into an ambulance and died on the way to Doctors Medical Center.
This crash remains under investigation. The CHP has not determined if alcohol or drugs may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
