Oakdale man arrested for making threats when caught stealing

Justin McCalley, a 31-year-old Oakdale man, was arrested late Wednesday, April 13 after he was observed stealing items at Cost Less Foods on Hatch Road and threatening to stab the employees trying to stop him.

Police were called at 10:59 p.m. and they arrived after McCalley fled the store. With a description of the suspect, Officer Tony Scopesi located and detained him near Hatch and Herndon roads.

McCalley was positively identified by the store employee. McCalley was found to be carrying a concealed fixed blade knife. He was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of making criminal threats, carrying a concealed dirk/dagger and violation of parole.
