A 63-year-old resident living in the 2700 block of Roeding Road was shot to death during an apparent Saturday home invasion robbery.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., the Ceres Police Department Communications Center received a call reporting a home invasion robbery. When officers arrived they found the mortally wounded man lying in the living room with a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers rendered CPR which was quickly taken over by Modesto Fire and American Medical Response personnel. The man died on scene.
