The Rotary Club of Ceres and Blaker Kinser Junior High School on Friday recognized eighth-grader Michael Rosenblum as a “Rotary Student of the Month.”
Michael Rosenblum is known by his teachers and classmates to be intelligent, funny and kind. His passion for science and history drives his academic and extracurricular pursuits, where he thrives as a team player and leader. He is actively involved in Academic Pentathlon, focusing on science and history, and takes an active role in Science Olympiad. He competes in events such as Disease Detectives, Helicopters, and Entomology, enjoying both the challenge and the camaraderie of working alongside teammates.
In addition to his academic interests, Rosenblum plays baseball for Westport and is part of the Central Valley Jr. Hawks Wrestling team.
Golf and music are his favorite pastimes, rounding out his dynamic personality. He channels his love for agriculture and science through 4-H, serving as a community service officer responsible for caring for rabbits. He also attends monthly 4-H meetings to collaborate on agriculture and science-focused initiatives.
His leadership has enabled him to contribute to his community, including opening a church play in Ceres last year.
Michael’s dedication extends to his community and club commitments.
His roles in Academic Pentathlon and Science Olympiad highlight his natural ability to lead and work effectively in a team. Whether on the baseball field, in a wrestling match, or engaging in science competitions, he approaches each endeavor with enthusiasm and responsibility, earning the respect of his peers and mentors alike.
