September is “Library Card Sign-Up Month” and Stanislaus County branches invite everyone to celebrate.

As students settle in to the new school year, it’s the perfect time to sign up for a library card. In fact, September is a great time for everyone to stop by one of the county’s 13 libraries, get a new library card, and see all that’s new.

With a library card customers have access to thousands of books and materials, digital resources such as downloadable audiobooks, e-books streaming movies and TV, as well as computers and free Wi-Fi. But, some may be unaware of many other great things a library card offers. Library cardholders can check out a California State Library Parks Pass for day use at more than 200 state parks. Discounted or free tickets to museums and cultural attractions are available through Discover and Go, with a library card. A library card even provides access to home connectivity kits, which includes a Chromebook, mouse, head-set with a microphone, hotspot device, as well as power adapters and carrying case.

This is also a great time to give feedback to the library. During the month of September, the library will conduct a customer satisfaction survey, available in English and Spanish. The survey may be completed online at www.stanislauslibrary.org or on paper copies at the library. Both library users and non-users are invited to share their thoughts.
