For the first time in its 44-year history, Soroptimist International of Ceres (SI Ceres) will be scheduling evening meetings.

The fourth Wednesday of each month, club members will be meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. rather than their usual noon time. Changing one meeting per month will open up opportunities for individuals who have thought about joining but could not attend during lunch time, said club President Brandy Meyer.

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. SI Ceres began in 1972, 51 years after Soroptimist first began in Oakland, California and grew to be a worldwide organization.

SI Ceres is always looking for new members who are interested in local programs to help women and girls in our community. Several of the programs include:

• Live Your Dream, Soroptimist Empowering Teens;

• Distinguished Young Women;

• Dream It Be It.

Women who are interested in joining or would like more information are invited to contact Meyer at (209) 988-6166 or email her at siceres@soroptimist.net. Prospective members may also visit www.ceressoroptimist.org.
