‘State of the City’ address on Thursday
Mayor Lopez
Ceres Mayor Javier Lopez

Mayor Javier Lopez will deliver a “State of the City” address on Thursday afternoon at the City Council Chambers at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth Street.

This event will begin at 4 p.m. with light refreshments and beverages and the speech at 4:30 p.m.

This will be the first State of the City Address since Chris Vierra gave on in April 2019, and the first for Lopez, who took office over a year ago.

The public is invited to attend but should contact City Clerk Diane Nayares-Perez to confirm attendance for seating purposes since seats will be socially distanced. She estimated that capacity will be limited to 150.

The mayor will give an overview of the city operation, projects, infrastructure, planning and programs and discuss the city’s plans for future growth.
