Tuesday, March 5 is the deadline to register to receive a ballot by mail

Stanislaus County Clerk / Recorder & Registrar of Voters Donna Linder reminds citizens that the last day to register to vote and receive a ballot by mail in the March 5 presidential primary election is Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Register on-line or mail a paper affidavit postmarked by Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.

Under California election laws, a Stanislaus County resident is allowed to vote in this presidential primary election if he or she is a U.S. citizen, California resident, not in prison and at least 18 years of age on March 5, 2024.

Citizens missing this deadline may register and vote in person at the Registrar of Voters office, 1021 “I” Street or any Vote Center in the county. Locations are listed on the website at stanvote.com

Registered voters who would like to obtain a replacement vote-by-mail ballot may be requested in one of these ways:

1). By letter containing the voter’s name, birth date, residence address, address to which the ballot is to be mailed and the voter’s signature, addressed to the Elections Office, 1021 “I” Street, Modesto CA 95354; or

2). In-person at the Elections Office, 1021 “I” Street, the corner of 10th & “I” Streets in downtown Modesto

3). In-person at any Vote Center, Locations can be found at stanvote.com

4) By calling the Registrar of Voters at 209-525-5201

5) By emailing stanvote@sancounty.com

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is Tuesday, Feb. 27. After this day voters will need to either visit a vote center or the Elections Office, 1021 “I” Street, Modesto.
