SVS Taxes & Bookkeeping at 1941 Mitchell Road was damaged Dec. 21 when it was struck by a car driven by a man who may have blacked out behind the wheel.

The crash occurred at 12:26 p.m. when the northbound driver lost control and the 2000 Silver Toyota Echo drifted across all lanes in a northwest direction and crashed into the building's eastern wall.

The building sustained minor damage. Nobody inside the building was hurt however a passenger riding in the car was transported to the hospital.

Driver John Longinotti, 56, of Ceres, was not deemed to be intoxicated, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry. Instead his passenger said Longinotti began coughing excessively while driving to the point where he blacked out.

Longinotti was driving on a suspended driver's license and was cited for driving.
