A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, at Allen Mortuary for Albert Roger Brown, 79, of Hughson.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson with private burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

Born February 1932, Albert served in the Marines. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson. He was a San Francisco Giants fan, was a trumpet player and drummer who enjoyed jazz and big band era music. Mr. Brown enjoyed horses, western films and western art.

He leaves behind his wife, Jean K. Brown of Hughson; his children, Albert Michael Brown of Chandler, Ariz., and Monte David Brown and Daniel Anthony Brown, both of Hughson; three sisters, Caroline Marson, Lorraine Odisho and Dolores Brown, all of Turlock; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to the American Cancer Society, (for lung cancer research) 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto CA 95350.
