A funeral will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Alexander Robertson "Robert Martin" Reid, 83, of Sacramento. He died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 at his home.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today.

Born May 17, 1922, Mr. Reid was a native of Quincy and lived in Sacramento for 30 years. He previously lived in Ceres for 10 years. Mr. Reid was a real estate broker and owned Martin's Variety Store in Ceres for many years. Mr. Reid was a member of the Ceres Lions Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Reid leaves behind his wife, Joyce Martin of Sacramento; five children, Machelle Martin of Sacramento, Thomas Robert Martin of North Bend, Ore., Maleah Novak of Grass Valley, Cherie Murray of La Grande, Ore., and Mark Martin of Adel, Ore.; and 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
