Memorial services are pending for Alvin G. Qualle, 80, of Hughson. He was killed in a Knights Ferry crash on June 12, 2005.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 22, 1924, Mr. Qualle was a native of Beverly, Saskatchewan, Canada, and lived in Hughson for 50 years. He was a sales manager for 35 years, last employed at J.M. Equipment. He belonged to the United Methodist Church in Hughson and served on the board of directors of Great Valley Bank. During World War II, Mr. Qualle served in the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Mr. Qualle enjoyed family gatherings and also working in the community, such as at Little Folks Nursery School, in his church and in his orchard. He also enjoyed doing family projects with his three children.

He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Margaret Qualle of of Hughson; five children, Shari Mayes of Pleasanton, Robert Qualle of Modesto, Patsy Hammond and Martin Qualle, both of Turlock, and Linda Genzoli of Hilmar; his brother, Richard Qualle of Beverly, Saskatchewan, Canada; and 13 grandchildren.
