Amos E. McGee

A graveside service was held Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Amos E. McGee, 84, of Ceres. He died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

Born Nov. 21, 1920, Mr. McGee was a native of Wister, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 25 years. He was an operating engineer for 35 years. Mr. McGee was a member of Operating Engineers Local 3 and United Methodist Church of Hughson. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1942-45.

Mr. McGee leaves behind four children, Jean Henley of Hughson, Ann Wroten of Lathrop, Myra Lauderbaugh of Carson City and Judy James of Fresno; his sister, Venita Smith of Sallisaw, Okla.; and 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarisse McGee.
