A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Andrew John Long, 86, of Turlock. He died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center.
Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the mortuary.
Born Nov. 30, 1918, Mr. Long was a native of Centerville, Iowa, and had lived in Turlock since 1979 and previously lived in Hughson, San Jose, San Francisco and International Harvester, Ill. He was a plumber-steamfitter for 36 years. Mr. Long was a member of San Jose union 393 since 1948. He enjoyed going to flea markets, working on cars and clocks, listening to baseball games and following the Giants.
He leaves behind his wife, Hazel Jean Long of Turlock; three children, Jean Marie Allgood of Iowa City, Iowa, Donna Endsley of Turlock and Patricia Ehlers of San Jose; his sister, Francie Fisher of Arroyo Grande; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.
