A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Anthony F. Cannella, 93, of Ceres. He died April 16, 2009.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Nov. 11, 1915 in Newark, N.J., Anthony served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He met and married Lucille Devito in June 1941 and together raised three sons, Sal, Henry and John. The family moved to California in 1952. Mr. Cannella was employed by Circle AW Manufacturing for over 30 years as a product estimator, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed golfing, wood-working, metal working and traveling. Mr. Cannella was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy.

He leaves behind three sons, Sal Cannella of Ceres, Henry Cannella and John Cannella; four sisters, Mary DeRaffaele, Nancy Mara, Frances Formosa and Josephine Monteleon; and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wife Lucille, and brothers John and Ritchie.
