Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Antonio Valdez Osuna Jr., 74, of Modesto. He died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
The rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born May 20, 1930, Mr. Osuna was a native of Douglas, Ariz., and lived in Modesto since 1962 and in California since 1957. He was a self-employed trucker for 50 years. Mr. Osuna enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Comite Mexicano de Beneficencia. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
Mr. Osuna served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954.
He leaves behind his wife, Isidra "Sheila" Osuna of Modesto; two children, Graciela Osuna of Modesto and Elsa Hilterbrand of Ceres; five stepchildren, Tony Briones of Modesto, Mary Lou Garcia of Turlock; Alma Garcia of Manteca, Linda Briones of Arizona, and Elizabeth Garcia of Las Vegas; five brothers, Steve V. Rios of Modesto, Richard V. Suarez and Rudy V. Suarez, both of Ceres, Henry V. Rios of Turlock and Albert V. Rios of Fresno; his sisters, Olga O. Lopez of Sacramento, Crispina R. Lozano of Mendota, Rose R. Wiley of San Jose and Delia R. Villegas of Dallas; and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carlota Osuna and a brother and two sisters.
