A memorial service was held Tuesday at Hughson Primitive Baptist Church for Beryl R. Edwards, 99, of Turlock. She died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born April 21, 1905, Mrs. Edwards was a native of Comanche County, Texas, and moved to Alameda County in the 1940s, then to Keyes in 1953. She later lived in Ceres, before spending six years in Turlock. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Salida Primitive Baptist Church. She worked for Hume Cannery and Roger Foods, and also served was a waitress. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting.

She leaves behind two daughters, Wanda Wickering of Turlock and Arvella England of Amarillo, Texas; her sister, Maudie Vance of Amarillo; and four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters.
