A funeral service was held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday for Betty Jean Fannin, 78, of Turlock. She died Sept. 27, 2010 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born in June 1932, Betty grew up and went to school in Hughson. She graduated from Hughson High School. She married the love of her life, Everett Fannin, and they were married for 59 years before his death in 2009. Betty had a strong faith in God and a great love for her family and her church. She also loved life and was even known for playing practical jokes on friends. She enjoyed taking grandchildren camping every summer. As a homemaker Betty had also built a reputation as a cake decorator.
She leaves behind her daughter, Diane Emery of Turlock; her brother, Donald Emfinger of Modesto; three grandchildren, Renee Emery, Shawnna Emery, and Everett Emery; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Everett Fannin and son Larry Fannin in 2006.
