A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Ceres Memorial Park for Betty Martino-Garrett, 83, of Ceres. She died Oct. 16, 2009.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Eaton Family Funeral Home, 513 12th Street, Modesto.
Born Feb. 8, 1926 in Alabama, Betty lived in Ceres for approximately 40 years. She worked at the canneries during her life and collected guns. Mrs. Martino-Garrett also once owned a store on Crows Landing Road in Modesto. She enjoyed fishing.
She leaves behind her "adoptive" children, Jerry and Jennifer London of Ceres; and her adoptive grandchildren, Chad Russel, Brandon Russel, Christa Platner, Tiffany and Robert Gibbons and Racheal Johnson; and her adoptive great-grandchildren, Taylor Planter, Jordan Russel, Chandon Russel, Aubrey Gibbons, Abigail Gibbons, Brandon Hasten Jr. and Tyler Dwayne.
