Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Funeral Home for Billy Joe Thomas Sr., 66, of Keyes. He died recently.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.

Allen Mortuary in Turlock is in charge of arrangements.

Born in 1941, Mr. Thomas was born in Merced and came to Stanislaus County in 1951. He worked for Weyerheauser Co. in Modesto for 37 years as a clamp truck driver. His hobbies included camping, hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind his wife, Nadine Thomas of Keyes; his children, Billy Joe Thomas, Jr. of Keyes, Richard Todd Thomas and Chad Nathan Thomas, both of Denair; two sisters, Betty Louise Gay of Delhi, and Bulah Mae Stuart of Turlock; two brothers, Oral James Thomas of Turlock, and Edward Ray Thomas of Keyes; and five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by daughter Wendy Janeen Thomas, and a brother and a sister.
