A graveside memorial service was held Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Bobby Newell, 57, of Hughson. He died Feb. 7, 2011 at his home following a long illness.
Born Oct. 16, 1953 in Visalia, Bobby was the oldest son of Billy and Bernice Newell. He was raised in Hughson. After graduating from Hughson High School in 1971, he joined the Army, returning to Hughson after receiving an honorable discharge. He married his wife Suzanne in 1989 and they settled in Keyes. Bobby worked as an agricultural equipment mechanic at Wilbur-Ellis in Hughson. He enjoyed fishing, designing and building fishing lures, woodworking and hunting.
He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Newell of Hughson; and his siblings, Danny Newell, Patty Newell and Terry Newell, all of Hughson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
