Buddie Bailey

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs in Modesto for Buddie "Bud" Bailey, 80, of Ceres. He died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Elness Convalescent Hospital in Turlock.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born July 9, 1924, Mr. Bailey was a native of Rush Springs, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 54 years. He briefly lived in Gustine. He was a cement finisher. Mr. Bailey was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving 1943-46. He received a good conduct medal, victory ribbon, APT ribbon and expert marksman honors.

Mr. Bailey leaves behind two children, Bill W. Bailey of Ceres and Bob R. Bailey of Riverbank; three sisters, Dorothy Bowden of Stockton, Cleda Hargett of Gustine and Bobbie Keith of South Carolina; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
