A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel in Turlock for Carol Ann Margaret Evenson Lundell, 78, of Hughson. She died Sept. 1, 2009.

Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born July 24, 1931 in Turlock to Rasmus and Victoria Evenson, Carol was raised on a dairy farm in Turlock. During her childhood, she attended Johnson Joint School and graduated from Turlock High School in 1948. After graduation, she worked as an assistant librarian from 1948 to 1953 at Turlock High School before accepting the position of assistant secretary (1953-56) at Turlock High School. In 1954, she married Kenneth Lundell of Hughson. Kenneth was a peach and almond farmer and she enjoyed her role as a farmer's wife. They were married 54 years. After her marriage, she continued working at Turlock High School until the birth of her first child when she chose to be a full-time homemaker. Carol Ann was a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel in Turlock where she served. Mrs. Lundell was also active in Skandi-Fest and the Turlock Historical Society.

She leaves behind her husband, Kenneth Lundell of Hughson; three children, Susan Peterson of Hughson, Debbie Wohld of Denair and John Lundell of Hughson; a sister, Virginia Balsiger, of Hillsboro, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Kaleb Peterson, Joshua Peterson, and Meredith Peterson, all of Hughson, Jeremy Wohld of Atwater, Gabriel Wohld of Denair, Nathan Wohld of Fresno, and Scott Lundell and James Lundell, both of Hughson.
