A funeral service was held Saturday at the Ceres Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for Cassie Ann Loftin, 81, of Ceres. She died June 12, 2010 in Modesto.
Interment was at the Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of Eaton Family Funeral Services.
Born Nov. 24 1928 in Ada, Okla., to Sarah and Frank McDonald, Cassie moved with her family to California in 1940. In 1947, Cassie met Riley Loftin at the uptown skating arena in Modesto. They were married in 1948. Mrs. Loftin drove Ceres school busses for 17 years. Cassie enjoyed camping, fishing, boat racing and time with friends in a camper club. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Riley Loftin of Ceres; one son, Gary Loftin; three brothers, Albert McDonald, James McDonald, and John McDonald; three sisters, Nora Ethel McDonald, Bertha Turner and Ynema Daniels; and six grandchildren, Michele Manning, Eric Loftin, Deanne Coles, Nathan Loftin, Ryan Loftin, and Kent Loftin, and 16 great-grandchildren..
