A memorial service was held Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Modesto for Cecelia Mae Bearden Krepela, 84, of Modesto. The former Ceres resident died Sept. 10, 2011 in Modesto.

Born Nov. 20, 1926 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Charles Victor Bearden and Athea Whitt Bearden, Cecelia came to California when she was three. She grew up in Ceres and moved to Modesto her senior year. She once co-owned T/K Expression, a gift shop located in Hale Gallery in McHenry Village.

She leaves behind her children, Glena Hale and Vicki Openshaw, both of Modesto, and Eric C. Krepela of Utah; her brother, Glen Bearden of Modesto; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence C. Krepela and sister Betty Jean Fuller.
