A chapel service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Charles E. Simpson, 73, of Ceres. He died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Funeral Home.

Born May 27, 1932, Mr. Simpson was a native of Stroud, Okla., and had lived in Stanislaus County since 1954. He was a retired real estate broker. Mr. Simpson was a member of Ceres Christian Church. He also belonged to SIRS, Dryden Men's Club and Modesto Bowling Association. He enjoyed golf and bowling.

Mr. Simpson leaves behind his wife, Darlene Simpson of Ceres; two children, Brian Simpson of Modesto and Sherry Darrach of Brookings, Ore.; four sisters, Mary Lou Campbell of Modesto, Juanita New of Utah, Elfrieda Rodriguez of Turlock and Deborah Dillard of Oregon; and one granddaughter.
